Renzo Gracie, born on March 11, 1967, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a prominent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner, mixed martial artist, and member of the legendary Gracie family. He is the grandson of Carlos Gracie, one of the co-founders of BJJ, and was deeply influenced by his family’s martial arts legacy.

Renzo holds a 7th-degree coral belt in BJJ and is known for his aggressive, technical grappling style. He has competed in prestigious organizations, including Pride Fighting Championships, UFC, K-1, and ADCC, where he won world championships in 1998 and 2000. His MMA career is highlighted by bouts against top fighters, and he remains an influential figure in martial arts.

Beyond competition, Renzo is a celebrated instructor and founder of the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City. This academy has produced numerous elite fighters, including Georges St-Pierre, Frankie Edgar, and Matt Serra.
